After a smooth arrival in Fukuoka, I kicked off my trip by heading straight to my accommodation – UNPLAN Fukuoka. Located in a peaceful neighborhood but still close to the action, this stylish hostel offered a great mix of comfort and modern design. Check-in was fast and hassle-free, and I was immediately impressed by the clean interiors and cozy common spaces. It felt like the perfect base for exploring the city.
Once I dropped off my bags, it was time to hit the ground running – or walking, in this case. First stop: PayPay Dome, one of Fukuoka’s most iconic landmarks. Even if you're not into baseball, this futuristic stadium is worth a visit. Just standing outside and soaking in its massive structure was impressive. It’s also surrounded by shopping and entertainment options, giving it a fun, lively vibe.
A short walk from there took me to Momochi Seaside Park, which felt like a breath of fresh air. With the sea breeze, sandy beach, and views of Fukuoka Tower in the distance, it was the perfect spot to slow down after the city buzz. Locals were relaxing, jogging, and enjoying the coastal scenery. I sat down for a bit, just to take it all in — a calm contrast to the urban energy.
✨ Day 1 Takeaway: From modern domes to peaceful seaside vibes and vibrant city lights, Fukuoka wasted no time showing its charm. I already feel like there’s so much more to uncover.
